In our “Best Damn Demo Period” class, the name of the game is to figure out where you’re marketable and then how to present your strengths to the best and most varied possible effect in a mock demo. That’s the thumbnail sketch, anyway – OR, you could commit the way ‘Traxer SARAH NORRIS did! In anticipation of Best Damn Demo, Sarah actually did homework months in advance, listening to SF/NY/LA agency demos in late October after getting her Spring catalogue, and then spending November and December listening to radio commercial breaks and checking out the commercial library on ispot.tv. She then spent the six weeks of class organizing her personal script library, using all the class resources, selecting and recording scripts, and redoing whatever she needed to after getting feedback in class… and just listen to how her research and actually HEARING what’s out there paid off for her!
