That doesn’t mean spending thousands of dollars or being a genius engineer, but you do need to be educated. Join Voicetrax’s Los Angeles-based, demo production master Kevin Cleland as he takes you through the fundamentals of home recording. By the end of this workshop, you will know how to record, edit and submit an mp3 of sufficient quality for advanced Voicetrax classes requiring home recording capabilities, and be several steps closer to professional grade recordings!

CHARACTER CASTING CAVALCADE

Your first taste of a real-life character casting experience!

Audiences are consuming content in many different ways, and with the plentiful streaming platforms, there are more animation opportunities than ever before! Voice-over producer and director Ned Lott takes you through a series of audition challenges to teach you how to stand out in the casting process. Participate in a “real-world” audition exercise, as a casting notice will be sent to you where you’ll “audition” and submit your recordings before class. You’ll get an inside look on what casting professionals listen for, as Ned plays back and provides feedback on your auditions.

During this information-packed workshop you’ll explore what you do well and what you should do well in narration – and therefore, what you should continue to focus on in your training. You’ll develop a clear understanding of the demo production process and discover how to highlight your strengths in a way that will grab the attention of agents and producers, as well as common mistakes to avoid. NARRATION DISSERTATION

Putting your narration prep to the test…

It’s time for Voicetrax students to speak up! Perhaps not as long as an actual dissertation, but in this world premiere seminar, students will be asked to verbalize exactly what their interpretation of the script is BEFORE they perform. These three experts will send their feedback back at you on three levels: 1) On your “thesis statement” and how successfully your plan was deployed, 2) whether or not it was the best plan for that particular script, and 3) on the actual performance itself.
