…especially when it comes to a VOICE-OVER BOOKING! Ever since signing with Stars, The Agency, ‘Traxer WES DAVIS has stayed patient and put in the sweat equity; and now, he’s enjoying a sweet payoff:
“So two weeks ago I got a packet of auditions for a Visa app, for Pandora. Three of the roles were all very similar so when I did them I tried to make sure that each one was different from the others so I could show some variety in my reads. A week later I got a check avail, shortly after that I was told I booked it, and a session was scheduled for the following day. The night before I made sure Source Connect was up to date and running without a hitch, and about a half hour before the session I checked again and everything was good. So imagine my surprise when the session started and Source Connect wasn’t working. Thankfully a quick reboot of the program, and voila!
Just a week before I auditioned for this project I took part in Samantha’s One Day Wonder: Am I Missing Something? class where we went through our prior auditions and discussed, surprise surprise, what we were missing. I know for me in particular we discussed that it might help if I let auditions sit for a minute after I’ve done them and come back to them with fresh ears making sure things weren’t overlooked. It’s something that I’ve tried to do since the class. Did I book this because of that? It certainly didn’t hurt!”
