Super Sunday – Voicetrax Style!
Wendy Levy booked a Wal-Mart radio spot for “The Big Game” this year. Wendy believes she booked it because she made the legal sound as conversational as possible (that's what the producer/director told her at the session).
Now anybody who’s navigated the retail-cratered landscape of disclaimers and legal tags knows just how tricky it is to get that kind of copy “off the page”. Wendy explains her methodology:
“For the actual spot, I visualized my neighbor coming over to my awesome party, seeing the super spread of food I had and I chose to let her in on my secret...I got it all at Wal-Mart… for less! I added a pause after Wal-Mart to imply there was some surprise awaiting the listener. It's kind of hard to explain how you do what you do, when what you do is what you do.” We know what you’re trying to say, Wendy…
While we’re on the subject of football (and we were talking football if you weren’t sure what “big game” we were referencing above), Voicetrax alum Butch Engle booked a series of TV and radio spots for the upcoming San Francisco 49ers season as the grizzled announcer. GO BUTCH!
