These Ladies Are On A Serious Roll, Part One
Cissy Jones reports that one of her most exciting jobs to date is for the soon-to-be released MMORPG (for those of you not familiar with Gamer Nation lingo, that’s Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) titled Rift!
So far Cissy’s voiced nine characters, even a few major ones! Cissy describes the daunting audition process: “We were given 16 different characters and told that those who could make each character distinct (without utilizing accents) were more likely to book, since they wanted to use a few people for several different characters.”
What?!? Cissy Jones without her accent superpowers? There should be a law against that… Cissy continues, “I think I spent 4-5 hours in my booth making sure each audition was full of range and awesomeness, and whaddya know – I booked 4 characters right off the bat! It's been ongoing and a lot of fun. Each new recording session typically has at least 1-2 new characters to create right on the spot. This is what you prepped us for!!”
Other jobs for Cissy include a Cisco narration, KB Homes & Martha Stewart Green Home narration, Balboa Park interactive audio tour called The Giskin Anomaly, Rainbow 6 video game, Bayer Canada medical narration, SAP industrial, television commercials for O & R Utilities in upstate NY, TV spots for a community hospital in Idaho, an indie flick as a grieving widower narrator, in-store announcements for Wal-Mart and on-going work for GreatSchools.org.
Cissy reflects on her year: “It's been great so far, and it's only getting better. Thank you Voicetrax for always pushing us in the right direction and never letting us get lazy when it comes to becoming better actors!”
