Audiobook Narrated by 'Traxer "One of Year's Ten Best!"...And Other Awesome Booking News...
The audiobook version of Sarah’s Key, narrated by Voicetrax student, Polly Stone, and directed and produced by long-time Voicetrax Guest Director, Lisa Baney, was recently chosen as "one of year’s ten best audiobooks" by Publishers Weekly. The reviewer said, “The story is heart-wrenching, and Polly Stone gives an excellent performance, keeping a low-key tone through descriptions of horror that would elicit excessive dramatics from a less talented performer. Her characters are easy to differentiate, and her French accent is convincing. De Rosnay's novel is captivating, and the powerful narration gives it even greater impact.” Wow… Just wow! What can we add to that other than congratulations, Polly and Lisa, on a job well done…we’re proud of you, and hope that this kind of high-profile recognition leads to much more work and accolades for you both.
In other recent booking news, voice actor and master Chef, Joan Antonuccio, booked her first job through her agent. Bravo, Chef Joan! And “Deejay” David Johansson, rocked his first paying gig! A big Voice Yenta shout out to Angela Harrington, who was selected by a casting client through an “E-Casting” to play the “Mom,” in John Muir Health Center radio spot. So, if you’re in the East Bay, you’ll probably be hearing Angela a lot for the next couple of months. Kudos to you, Ms. H!
Stay tuned for more BIG and EXCITING booking news later this week…if you think that the ladies had a good showing at the Grammies, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet…
